PROJECTS

The Gifts of Darkness

  • 2016 - present
  • Comic series: I write, draw, and publish it as a webcomic. It is currently the main focus of my work, and I consider it my proudest achievement.

How late is too late to change one's self? Adrien, a self-proclaimed "collector of mistakes", fears his time has already passed. Nevertheless, a series of circumstances brings him to the unusual choice to try becoming a sorcerer's apprentice of all things. He is taken in by master sorcerer Valerion - a mysterious figure that he can't quite read; so kind and patient, yet so reclusive and distant. Adrien and Valerion start as apprentice and mentor, and in time they become inseparable friends. They reveal their truths and darkest secrets to each other, and what they share changes them forever. And over time, Adrien's question changes from whether he can change, to whether he can remain himself.

The Sanctuary of Santa Faustina

  • 2020 - 2021
  • Part illustrated story, part graphic novel, and part screenplay. I worked on some of the illustrations and comic pages, and designed some of the characters.

The Sanctuary of Santa Faustina is an illustrated science-fiction screenplay novella, written by D. B. Lindgren, published by Mono Opti Publishing. The plot follows Maricela "Mari" Muñoz, a 15-year-old girl who lives in a makeshift orphanage in a secret government research community called Santa Faustina. Located within the vast Sonoran Desert, Santa Faustina was shut off from the rest of the world after a mysterious incident nine years ago. Accompanied by an autonomous, flying robot named Wren, Mari seeks to discover the truth about what happened to her community and her family.

Comic backgrounds for Tyler Mann

  • 2021 - present

Since 2021, I've been working as a background artist for Tyler Mann's comics and illustrations. In some cases I develop his roughs, in other cases I am also in charge of designing and conceptualizing the background itself.

Zine participations

  • 2019 - present

Various illustrations featured in zines and anthologies.

Calligraphy & lettering

  • 2012 - present

Generally, if there is text in my work, it was hand-lettered. "But surely not even that one --" Yes. Even that one.

Other comics

  • 2012 - present

Other comic work that isn't related to The Gifts of Darkness or any of the other projects above.

Album covers

  • 2017 - present

Music album covers I've been lucky enough to work on.

Italian for my Girlfriend

  • 2012 - 2017
  • Illustrations and book anthology.

A sketchbook of illustrated Italian words and idioms to help teach my native language to my girlfriend (now wife) Denise, who is from the United States. During the run of the project, I shared daily scans on the Italian for my Girlfriend blog.

The project concluded with the making of a book version, Italian For My Girlfriend - Anthology, which features 100 selected illustrations.

Cathemerals

  • 2013
  • Illustrated poetry book

A book of illustrated and hand-lettered poetry focusing on cycles and the flow of time. 120 pages.

Terra series

  • 2024 - present

I was there, I am there, I will be there. Painting meditations in this Puglia.

Character design

  • (The first character I designed, I was 5 years old I think...)

Gallery of character designs I was in charge of. Some are my own creations, some were made on commission, and some are even redesign experiments with fandom favorites.

Fanart selection

  • 2016 - present

The very best of the absurd amount of fanart that I draw.

Character pages

  • 2017 - present
  • Compilation pages of drawings of the same character

Some people would call this an exercise in obsession. I call it meditative, research, study, sitting in company of the character, etc. etc.

Rigelatin

  • 2011 - present
  • Website for my fun stuff

Rigelatin is a website space for whatever miscellaneous fun things I want to do: fandom writings, fansites, generators, AMVs, and who knows what else.

The main page of Rigelatin itself is a presentation of all the stuff contained within, so for more information I recommend you just

Web design selection

  • 2004 - present (yes, you read that right)
  • HTML and CSS joyfully, PHP and Javascript because one must, and then a lot of patience

I am also a practictioner of the dark art of web design and front-end web development.

Nowadays I only do web design stuff for myself and for fun, with the sole exception of websites for fellow artists and creatives.

The fox and the rooster

  • 2012
  • Illustrated children's book prototype

I made this in my last year of university, and I think it's pretty cute. I tried to have it published, but after much hemming and hawing it wasn't picked up.

Later I moved on from (trying to work in) children's illustration, so this project remains one single prototype in my possession. But contact me if you can rectify that.
